KATHRYN LEEKE MA(Oxon), ARCO, DipABRSM

Kathryn Leeke was born and grew up in Redhill. Fortunate enough to be surrounded by a very musical family, Kathryn started piano lessons at Micklefield School in Reigate at the age of four. At eleven years old, Kathryn was awarded a music scholarship to Sutton High School, whilst also benefiting from Surrey Youth Music, performing as a teenager on recorder and cello in county ensembles.

Kathryn went on to gain a first-class degree in music from Merton College Oxford, where she was Organ Scholar. After graduating, Kathryn held posts including Director of Chapel Music at Shrewsbury School, Director of Youth Music at St Chad’s Civic Church Shrewsbury, and Director of Music at University College Oxford.

As a performer, in addition to recordings and recitals, Kathryn has appeared on BBC ‘Songs of Praise’ several times as a singer, piano accompanist and choral director. Kathryn is also an experienced examiner for ABRSM and the Royal School of Church Music.

Currently, Kathryn teaches for Thomas’ London Day Schools and is delighted to be accompanying East Surrey Choral Society.
